MVP: Carrie Sheffey – The Falcons’ scrappy senior forward was reliable and durable and was the team’s blood-and-guts leader on the floor. She crashed the boards with authority. She defended like crazy. She was always diving after loose balls. And she helped out in the scoring department a little more this season, averaging 7.8 points a game. Her best stretch came at the start of Section 1 play, when she scored 20 points in a clutch win at Hempfield, followed that up with 14 points in a win over rival McCaskey, then capped her three-game tear with 20 points in a win over Warwick. With high-scoring forward Shannon Stokes and budding star point guard Meghan Phillips grabbing most of the headlines, Sheffey was simply steady, and did tons of dirty work.
