Best individual effort: 30 points – Kelsey Caruthers, Dec. 4 vs. Manheim Central. She also plucked 20 rebounds that night.

Losing streak: 2 (two times).
MVP: Kelsey Caruthers – The Comets’ senior low-post stalwart had an amazing season, winning the L-L League regular-season scoring title (18.9), scoring in double figures in 22 of Penn Manor’s 24 games, and scoring 20 or more points 15 times. She was my Section 1 MVP and a member of my All-League Team. St. Francis recruit absolutely dominated in the paint, and hardly anyone had an answer for her. More impressively, she helped the Comets scare the daylights out of everyone in the section race (ask McCaskey and Hempfield), and helped Penn Manor get back to Districts for the first time in three years. The Comets fell to Harrisburg in the first round. How was Caruthers’ swan song? She dropped 27 points on the Cougars, giving her 1,336 points in her career.
