Former Lancaster Mennonite standout Matt Eby earns spot on USA Deaf National Soccer Team

Former Lancaster Mennonite standout Matt Eby (No. 10 in black) plays for the USA Deaf National Soccer Team // LNP photoFormer Lancaster Mennonite standout soccer player Matt Eby was recently named to the 18-member USA Deaf National Soccer team.

Eby has been participating in USA Deaf Soccer since 2004.

The national team will compete in Greece from July 1-12 in the inaugural World Deaf Football Championships.

Eby, who resides in Washington, D.C., is an assistant coach for Gallaudet University’s soccer team.

Eby was a three-time All-Capital Athletic Conference performer when he played soccer for Gallaudet.
