Former Lancaster Mennonite standout soccer player Matt Eby was recently named to the 18-member USA Deaf National Soccer team.

Eby has been participating in USA Deaf Soccer since 2004.

The national team will compete in Greece from July 1-12 in the inaugural World Deaf Football Championships.

Eby, who resides in Washington, D.C., is an assistant coach for Gallaudet University’s soccer team.

Eby was a three-time All-Capital Athletic Conference performer when he played soccer for Gallaudet.
