PENN MANOR SENIOR FORWARD KELSEY CARUTHERS SCORES HER 1,000th CAREER POINT IN COMETS’ WIN OVER EPHRATA
Welcome to the club, Kelsey Caruthers.
For the second time in a week, an L-L League girls’ basketball player has eclipsed the 1,000-career-point plateau.
Caruthers, Penn Manor’s senior forward and Division 1 St. Francis University recruit, pumped in 23 points in the Comets’ 44-34 win over Ephrata. She came into the game leading the league in scoring, averaging 22.0 points per game.
Caruthers scored her 1,000th point in the third quarter, and she now has 1,007 career points.
Caruthers is just the second player in the history of Penn Manor’s girls’ program to score 1,000 points. The other was Carol Flinchbaugh, who graduated in 1989.
Last Saturday, McCaskey senior guard Teasia Myers scored her 1,000th point.
