Cocalico senior Samantha Santoro, the reigning state girls’ high school bowling champ, is back in the record books.
On Sunday, Sept. 30, Santoro broke the United States Bowling Congress girls’ youth record national series record that she set back in May.
Santoro rolled games of 279-280-300 for an 859 series at the ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg while participating in the Pennsylvania Junior Bowlers Tournament/Pop Tomek Memorial Tournament.
It was the third 800 series in Santoro’s career – she had previously rolled an 845 and an 813.
It was also her seventh 300 game.
Santoro had a 239 average in the Thursday Scholarship Doubles League, and she’s currently averaging a 225 in the Saturday Junior League Program at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy.
This past summer, Santoro participated in the Teens Masters National High School Singles Championships in Las Vegas. She finished second in that tournament and won a $3,750 scholarship.
Santoro is considering her college options, and she’s set to make a visit to Arkansas State, an NCAA Division I program, later this fall.
