Here are my 3 Stars from Week 3:
*** Carl Christmas, junior RB, Penn Manor – The McCaskey transfer stood tall for the Comets, carrying 33 times for 213 yards and scoring two touchdowns in Penn Manor’s 36-21 victory at Cocalico. It was the Comets’ first win this season (and first career W for rookie coach Todd Mealy). And it was Cocalico’s first loss this season. Christmas had a 1-yard TD dive and a 20-yard TD scamper for the Comets.
*** Colby Tuell, senior WR, Columbia – What a night for the Crimson Tide’s speedster, who caught six passes for 125 yards and rushed two times for 73 yards. He also scored three times: Tuell had a 68-yard TD burst on a reverse, and he hauled in a pair of TD passes from senior QB Mike Seibert: a 28-yarder and a 39-yarder as the Tide outlasted Bishop Shanahan 36-27. Tuell has 16 catches for 389 yards (24.3 per catch) and five TD grabs through three games for the undefeated Tide.
*** Jon Resch, senior QB, Warwick – Resch piloted the Warriors to their third victory in a row, a 28-14 win over backyard rival Ephrata, as Warwick retained the George Male Trophy. Resch continued his efficient start by completing 14-of-22 passes for 188 yards and he tossed four TD passes: a pair to Matt Fitzpatrick (covering 18 and 23 yards, respectively), one to Randy Yost (a 12-yarder) and one to Zach Snyder as the Warriors improved to 3-0.
