Get out your brooms, Penn Manor.
Bobby Adams pitched a complete-game four-hitter and Cameron Black drove in a pair of runs Tuesday night as Penn Manor topped Ephrata 8-1 and won the American Legion District 10 championship in a clean sweep.
PM, the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, went 5-0 in the tournament and advanced, along with Ephrata, to the Region IV Tournament, which begins July 29 in Hanover.
Using a split-fingered fastball and a slider, Adams improved to 6-1 this season. He also improved his ERA, which was 1.59 coming into the game.
Adams, Andy Drexel, Aaron Breneman and Matt Rayha eached knocked in a run and Breneman scored three runs — including a steal of home — for Penn Manor, which improved to 18-2 overall and won its first District 10 title since 2002.
Ephrata, which finished 3-2 in the double-elimination tournament, slipped to 11-10 overall.
Ephrata grabbed an early 1-0 lead on Chris Adams’ RBI single, but Penn Manor scored two runs in the bottom of the first on Black’s two-run double.
That’s all Adams needed, as he allowed just one hit the rest of the way while striking out two and walking two in the game.
