Loren Souder has stepped down as Ephrata’s head girls’ basketball coach.
I reported that earlier after seeing a blurb in the Sunday News about Ephrata being in search of a new girls’ basketball coach.
I heard from Loren on Monday, and he confirmed that he had indeed submitted his resignation and was stepping away from the progam — for family reasons.
Ephrata went 24-44 under Souder the last three years.
That leaves girls’ basketball coaching vacancies at Ephrata, Northern Lebanon and Garden Spot.
Although … Garden Spot has apparently made its hire, and is awaiting school board approval.
I do have the name of the new coach, but I’d like to hear it from his mouth before I post anything here. But stay tuned; when I can confirm it, I’ll let you know.
