And you thought you were going to get a rare Friday night off …

The schedule says the Lancaster-Lebanon League regular season is over.
Apparently Cedar Crest and Lampeter-Strasburg didn’t get that memo.
The Falcons and the Pioneers came up clutch on the final night of league play Thursday, extending the L-L League season by one night.
In South Lebanon, Cedar Crest zoomed out to a 13-point lead just before the half, and led by 12 early in the third, only to watch McCaskey go on an 11-0 run and tie the game at 41 midway through the fourth.
The Tornado, which was in solo possession of first place when the day started, also knotted the game at 47, but never came all the way back to grab a lead.
End result: Cedar Crest 53, McCaskey 47.
<I was at the game, and you can check out my story in Friday’s New Era>.
McCaskey-Cedar Crest III is tonight at 7 at Penn Manor. Winner gets the Section 1 hardware.
Meanwhile, in Lampeter, L-S trailed Lebanon by a game in the Section 3 race heading into Thursday night, and Pioneers (who lost at Lebanon 54-37 on Jan. 23) chopped down the Cedars 46-29.
<Phil Glatfelter was in Lampeter for the proceedings, and you can read his report in Friday’s New Era.>
Lebanon-L-S III is tonight at 7 at Garden Spot. Winner gets the Section 3 hardware.
I’ll be at McCaskey-Cedar Crest and Phil will be at Lebanon-L-S, so be sure to pick up Saturday’s New Era for all the details.
Also in Saturday’s New Era: complete boys’ and girls’ L-L League playoff previews, including breakdowns of every first-round game, brackets (gotta love those), scoring leaders, Players the Week and final league stadings.
