OK, I’ve made you wait long enough.
It’s time for my Super Bowl pick.
The big game is in three days, and after dissecting the match-ups (and discussing them with Mike Gross from the Sunday News and Corey Clayton, the New Era’s online journalist in our second podcast), I’ve come up with this score:
Colts 28, Bears 24.
The longer you sit around and analyze it (and we’ve had two ridiculous weeks to do that), you can make a pretty good argument for either team winning.
But I love Peyton Manning. And I really like Joseph Addai. And Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. And especially Dallas Clark, who could be the X-factor in the game. And the Colts’ defense has been very, very good in the playoffs.
Yeah, playoffs. We’re talking about the playoffs.
Da Bears? They’ve been a nice story. And they’ve been better than I expected (considering I picked them to fall to the Seahawks). But I have a hunch that ‘Bad’ Rex Grossman is going to show up Sunday – at least at key times, like in the fourth quarter.
So take the Colts.
Enjoy the game - and especially the commercials.
