I’ve wanted to post this for quite a while, but I never took 10 minutes to do it … until now.
I’ve been trying to track down all of the 1,000-career-point scorers for all 24 Lancaster-Lebanon League girls’ programs.
I have a pretty good list going, but I’m still missing a few schools.
If you’re looking for any 1,000-career-point scorers, feel free to drop me an e-mail (jreinhart@LNPnews.com) and I can send you what I have.
Two players are poised to join the club: Lebanon’s Megan Strohman is at 973 and Cedar Crest’s Allison Smith is at 925.
Here is the list of the top 10 leading scorers in the history of the league:
1. Marjie Rhoads, Columbia (1997) — 2,573.
2. Becky Hower, Lebanon Catholic (2001) — 2,445.
3. Carla Munnion, Cedar Crest (1994) — 2,256.
4. Meg Abele, Warwick (2003) — 2,180.
5. Ashli Schwab, Elco (2001) — 2,169.
6. Alyse Hoover, Cedar Crest (2004) — 2,088.
7. Abbie Fabian, Cocalico (1997) — 1,981.
8. Hilary Waltman, Manheim Central (1995) — 1,937.
9. Jess Lentz, Lebanon (1998) — 1,872.
10. Emily Swingler, Columbia (2000) - 1,828
Interesting that 3 of the 10 are Columbia grads …
A couple of those names should ring a bell:
Abele is in her senior season at Philadelphia University.
After playing for Penn State for four years, Schwab is Penn Manor’s head coach.
After playing for E-town College for four years, Fabian is now Abbie Houck, Cocalico’s head coach.
And after a standout career at Shipp, Swingler is now helping out at Hempfield.
