(Folks … here’s what we wrote about Thursday night’s Superchick/Stellar Kart show at Manor Church, formerly Manor BIC. I’ve seen Stellar Kart, but never Superchick, who I hear has an excellent show. Should, obviously, be a good one …)
They’re one of the most popular acts in Christian music, with a sound that has led them everywhere from MTV’s “Real World” to even the Cartoon Network.
They’re called Superchick, offering a mix of hard rock and ballads, and they’re coming to the Lancaster area this Thursday.
The band, led by Brock sisters Tricia (vocals) and Melissa (guitars), bring their current “Rock What You Got” tour to Manor Church for a 7:30 p.m. show.
Superchick, led by songs like “We Live” (theme of the ABC-TV series “Brothers & Sisters) and popular hit “Stand in the Rain,” is a top act with young people, especially teen girls, for its catchy sound and emotion-packed lyrics dealing with real-life issues.
Also appearing Thursday will be Stellar Kart, an emerging post-punk band that last summer gave fiery shows at Quarryville’s Witness Festival and then the Creation Festival near Mount Union.
Superchick, originating in Chicago, has gained a growing following since starting out in 1999.
Its song “One Girl Revolution” was used in the film “Legally Blonde,” while its “Not Done Yet” could be heard in “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.”
Lancaster is one of 30 stops on Superchick’s current tour, which runs through mid-November.
“Rock What You Got,” released in June, is Superchick’s fifth release, and the band has sold close to a million albums.

Doors open about an hour before Thursday’s concert at Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road.
The Manor Township church holds some 1,000 people, officials at the church said Monday.
There are limited tickets remaining, and those bought by Wednesday are $17.50. Any remaining tickets available at the door will be higher-priced.
