Okay, I’m not done with the work week just yet.
Found my way over to Gov. Ed Rendell’s new Web site that details how the Obama administration’s economic stimulus package will impact Lancaster County. The Web site is www.recovery.pa.gov. Not exactly Hulu or YouTube, but you know, just in case you feel inclined eating breakfast with your laptop to check out something different other than The Office reruns, clips of the Daily Show or deleting spam mail.
So how will Lancaster fare? According to the Web site, 232,575 people will see income tax relief (to qualify, you have to make as an individual $75,000 or less).
About 8,600 people in Lancaster County who receive unemployment benefits can count on an additional $25 per week until the end of the year.
There’s more, but nothing yet on where money earmarked (oops, bad word) for local road or bridge projects will go. But the mouse pointer turns into a smiling President Obama as you navigate around the different links, and when you click on a link, Rendell’s voice booms out of your computer speakers with a “No whining” message. Okay, not really.
