Boy, I hate making mistakes. And I made a glaring error in this morning’s story about the inaugural address. See if you can catch it in this paragraph:
Sometimes, the circumstances inspire the speech. Think about Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address, when, in 1865, he appealed to the “better angels of our nature” as the Civil War was winding down.

Lincoln talked about the “better angels of our nature” in 1861 during his first inaugural address, not his second in 1865. Thanks to a reader who pointed that out this morning. No excuses. Simply dropped the ball on that one.
