As if the evidence wasn’t clear enough, with two major rallies in the eastern part of the state in the last week, now comes two more events. First is the unsubstantiated rumor as of 8:50 a.m. that Republican Sarah Palin will lead a rally at Clipper Magazine Stadium this Saturday. And now the McCain campaign has just confirmed a rally in Downingtown, Chester County.
Here’s the info for the Downingtown event:
United Sports Training Center
1426 Marshallton-Thorndale Rd.
Downingtown, PA 19335
Thursday, October 16th
Doors Open: 10am
Tickets are available at Lancaster GOP headquarters, 902 Columbia Ave., Lancaster, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
No one as far as I can see considers Pennsylvania a battleground state anymore, but McCain’s internal numbers must show signs of a possible upset. RealClearPolitics.com has Democrat Barack Obama up by an average of 13.4 percent in voter polls, the state has 1.2 million more Democrats than Republicans, unemployment is up and the last Republican to win Pennsylvania was George H.W. Bush way back in 1988 (I was 9 years old). I’d love to be in the McCain war room right now to hear what they’re saying about Pennsylvania.
