| Wonder 10/15/08 11:06 PM | Neither of the two candidates seemed like they were into this debate. I am glad it was the last one. We learned nothing new. |

We learned nothing new. I didn't waste my time watching it so if they scheduled three more debates I wouldn't be bothered by it in the least. When election day rolls around I'll be thankful that I have the opportunity to vote for the candidate who sucks less. |

| harv1 10/16/08 12:15 AM | I disagree. I thought this debate was a real debate for a change. Bob Shieffer (sp?) did a very good job. Much better than Gwen Ifill and especially much better than Tom Browkaw. I liked Bob's questions and I liked the give and take of the debate as well. Yes, there was that godawful preaching at the beginning and McCain's gratuitous shout out to Nancy Reagan (who pretty much despises him), and Obama's blah blah blah at the beginning. But once the debate started, I thought it was very good and that the candidates were able to spell out their differences on the economy and a lot of give and take went on. Yes, there was the attack explanation segment for both sides and the opportunity for them to speak out on what has been said about them by the other side. But the real crux of the debate centered on their differences etc. Ya gotta love all the Joe the Plumber references. Poor guy. I wonder how soon we'll see Joe the Plumber on the tube. |

NBC is in his front yard right now. They're showing an interview with Joe and his opinions on the issues. He's a conservative - wants a smaller government.Joe should run for office. |

| harv1 10/16/08 9:03 AM | Kate, I knew they'd be after him post haste!! He'll have his 15 minutes of fame They said on the radio news this a.m. that Joe the Plumber was mentioned two dozen times in the debate. It was funny - they ran a loop of both candidates saying "Joe the Plumber" on NPR. |
