McCain in the middle

While Hillary and Barack duke it out on the left, John McCain is angling for the middle-of-the-road voters, which constitutes a majority of people in this country. That’s why I think you are seeing one-fifth to one-fourth of Obama or Clinton supporters pledging to vote for McCain if their preferred Democrat isn’t on top of the ticket.

Here’s McCain’s new ad. Not exactly a right-wing propaganda piece; more like trying to establish McCain’s “maverick” reputation while also showing a dignified, duty-bound presidential hopeful. It’s stock full of moderate views on taxes, alternative energy and more, and there’s a pledge to take good ideas from both parties. The ad is running in (SURPRISE!) the swing states of Ohio and Pennsylvania:
