Joe Hainthaler, a copy editor for the Lancaster New Era, began earning his credentials for this blog by contributing to a conservative column at college titled “Tory Dissent,” then completed an internship with the National Journalism Center (alumni include the Wall Street Journal’s John Fund and columnist Ann Coulter) and then went from intern to managing editor of Human Events, the national conservative weekly. He also served as news editor for The Washington Times National Weekly Edition. His escape from Washington later led to two and half years covering Harrisburg for the York Daily Record.
